The Systems Administrator and Desktop Support Technician is responsible for providing helpdesk, desktop, peripheral, and network/server support.

-Provide desktop and end-user support for Windows, Apple, and Android based endpoint devices (desktops, laptops, tablets, desk phones, smart phones/iOS, monitors), office applications (Office, Office 365, Google, Adobe), enterprise applications, and peripherals (copiers and printers, fax machines, check and receipt printers).
-Setup and provide audio-visual and Wi-Fi system support for conference rooms, conference calls, and onsite/offsite events and meetings (both during and after normal business hours) including Lync/Skype, Google Hangout, and GoToMeeting.
-Participate in employee onboarding and off boarding tasks, and office moves.
-Setup, rollout, and update/patch endpoint devices including creating and maintaining images.
-Setup and support remote access to desktop and enterprise applications and network drives.
-Create technical and end-user documentation including policies and procedures and including Systems Architecture documentation.
-Develop training curriculums and coordinate/lead end-user training and user drop-in support sessions.
-Create and manage Active Directory accounts – including account setup, maintenance and termination.
-Supports Linux and Windows servers – including server patching and applying updates – both on-premise and in the Azure cloud.
-Supports Windows Print Services - and scan to email/file function.
-Provides weekly updates on status of current tickets, open issues and projects.
-Assist in production operations tasks as needed.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
-Configure, maintain, test, and restore desktop and system backups and database and system disaster recovery.
-Maintain firewalls, switches and other network management hardware.
-Maintain network management software and login/miscellaneous scripts.
-Support and maintain the Linux and Windows operating systems.
-Configure, maintain & monitor the TCP/IP network for optimum performance & security.
-Perform regular upgrades and rebuilds of server hardware and software (usually after normal business hours).
-Act as liaison with the Office of Information Technologies and with the Department of Networking and Telecommunications. Understand and adhere to University policy related to Information Technology.
-Assist staff with setup and troubleshooting of ODIN accounts and voice mail.
-Enforce Security Policy in conjunction with the User Support and Project Manager and participate in annual PCI compliance audits.
-Ensure and enforce fiduciary controls, including credit card processing systems for events.
-Maintain inventory of all IT hardware, software, and license/subscription assets.
-Prepare and dispose of surplus equipment and coordinate/oversee destruction of hard drives.
-Act as a liaison between Foundation IT and Vendors. Responsible for hardware, software, and supply orders.
-Document systems specific procedures and policies, including Systems Architecture documentation.
-Collaborate with other technical staff in system design, growth and performance.
-Act as the librarian for all system operations related manuals and media for all supported software.
-Keep abreast of technical knowledge needed to support new and upgraded equipment, software and systems.-
