Your Next Challenge:
As a Program Supervisor in the Assessment, Recording and Taxation Division (DART) you will
Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of staff involved in the Special Programs Group (SPG).
Train, mentor and coach a team of four Tax Exemption Specialists and three Assessment Technicians.
Direct and supervise the processing of applications for exemption and special assessments.
Evaluate and analyze the Special Program processes to improve quality and efficiency.
Assign, review, and supervise the preparation of appraisal/assessment reports to the Board of Property Tax Appeals, Department of Revenue and State Tax Court.
Initiate, supervise and approve of changes to Assessment roll to correct errors.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:
A bachelor's degree with major coursework in real estate, appraising, business, accounting or a related field.
Three (3) years of experience in real estate practices, assessment, taxation and appraisal methods.
Oregon State Appraiser's Registration (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
A valid driver's license.
Knowledge of the property tax program in the State of Oregon, including Oregon Revised Statutes.
Ability to pass a criminal record check.

Experience working with exemptions in an Ad Valorem tax environment
Supervisory or leadership experience
Experience in project management or process improvement
Experience valuing a variety of properties using 3 approaches to value (market, income & cost)
