This position is part-time only 20 hours weekly. As a Court Operations Specialist, you would be part of a fast-paced team that provides customer service and assistance to members of the public by telephone and in person contact. The position is an excellent entry level opportunity to learn about the City's Municipal Court. If accuracy and attention to detail are some of your assets, then the variety of duties that this position performs will be well suited for your skill set. You will perform data entry, perform compliance and payment collection duties, serve as a violations bureau clerk, review documents for completeness, and adjudicate citations within authority granted by judicial order. Organization skills are essential as you will also be maintaining a variety of required court records and correspondence.
This is a critical position for our court team. The fast-paced and ever-changing nature of this position requires a strong team and dependable co-workers. If we have just described a job that you would be interested in, then you might be asking yourself;
What are the minimum qualifications?
You must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and have a high school diploma or GED. You will also need two years of experience of a general clerical nature, involving high volume in-person public contact, court-related work experience, or any combination of experience and training sufficient to support the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
You must be able to obtain a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) clearance/ and Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) certification within 30 days of hire and maintain them during the course of employment.
We would prefer candidates who have the following qualifications.
• Previous experience with Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS).
• Knowledge of court procedures and legal terminology as used in legal documents and court systems.
• Knowledge of traffic violations, Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) regulations, Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) and correlating processes.
