Position Summary: The Regional Assistant Director for Concordia University’s Online Master’s of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program provides regional administrative oversight for the Online MAT program cohort(s) in San Bernardino County (SBC), CA. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Online MAT program in SBC and ensuring ongoing compliance with all licensure components of the MAT program, including candidate and district partner supports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Support: 25%
•Assist Associate Director for the Online MAT, ensuring successful implementation of key procedures in the MAT program for SBC (e.g. interviews for admissions; trainings and professional development for candidates, cooperating teachers, university supervisors and district partners, etc.).
•Assist with review and updates of all program collateral (handbooks, orientation materials, etc.) for Online MAT program used in regional sites.
•Work as a liaison to Concordia University-Portland to ensure compliance with all university policies, state requirements and online learning practices.
•Maintain familiarity with California Teaching Commission rules and practices regarding Preliminary licensure in order to ensure program compliance with all state licensure rules, including issues of state to state reciprocity among regional online MAT programs.
•Participate in reviewing any program related concerns and work to support instructional efforts of all instructors.
•Provide feedback on university collateral used for the Online MAT program.
•Support the annual assessment and analysis of the Online MAT program for continuous improvement.
•Teach six credits annually for the Online MAT cohort based on specialization and expertise.
Candidate Support: 45%
•Support SBC Online MAT candidates with issues related to program, placements, and licensure as appropriate.
•Meet with candidates, formally and informally, to provide mentoring and support as needed (may occur in person as well as virtually).
Stakeholder Support: 25%
•Serve as a point of contact for SBC Online MAT cooperating teachers, university supervisors, principals, and district personnel for curriculum, and updates about California practices, etc that can inform and improve the Online MAT program experience.
•Serve as local point of contact for Concordia University College of Education Placement personnel and other key stakeholders at Concordia University-Portland.
•Meet with local stakeholders, formally and informally, to address program questions, etc as needed (may occur in person as well as virtually).

•Perform other administrative and academically-related duties as assigned by the Director of MAT Programs.

Work Contacts: Contacts include Program Directors, Assistant Dean, program faculty, staff, and students on a regular basis.
Scope of Work: Activities and tasks support the operations of the College of Education and includes following standard operating procedures through course of work. May initiate actions in support of departmental operations. Requires knowledge of institution policies and practices.

Working Conditions: Classroom and office environment within PK-8 school settings and virtual classroom.
Minimum Physical Requirements:
Able to be present to teach coursework in a virtual classroom.
Able to use technology and administrative software (i.e. Blackboard, Microsoft Office Suite, Taskstream, etc.) to enter data, respond to inquiries and create teaching materials.
Able to use computer hardware and peripherals as well as office equipment including copiers and scanners.
Able to communicate effectively in person, in front of audiences, electronically and via telephone.
Tolerance to repetitive motions including keyboarding and writing.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
An earned Master’s degree in Education or an appropriate education-related discipline.
Possess and maintain a valid teaching license in California P-12 schools .
3-5 years of experience teaching in California P-12 schools; ESOL endorsement preferred.
Demonstrated ability to advise a diverse student body.
Essential knowledge of teacher education programs, standards and clinical practices.
Successful classroom teaching experience that demonstrates a capacity for excellence in teaching at the college level/leading professional development.
