The marketing coordinator collaborates with a team of creative professionals who are responsible for the strategic messaging of Lewis & Clark’s pioneering spirit and excellence in undergraduate, graduate, and professional education. The marketing coordinator will use their creative and organizational talents to support and implement the print and digital work of a dynamic marketing team focused on recruiting talented students, engaging alumni, and energizing the on-campus community.
This position is represented by the Lewis & Clark College Support Staff Association Local 4912 of the American Federation of LCCSSA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with members of the marketing team and departments in all areas of the institution to create strategic marketing plans; these plans could include student recruitment brochures, an advertisement, a development appeal, an alumni benefits guide, catalog, a website, a social media campaign, etc. These projects could be for internal or external audiences.
Provide project management by implementing existing strategies and developing new systems. This includes managing production and project schedules; communicating with vendors and project stakeholders about deadlines, budgets, and specifications; and creating and updating records in our project management software.
Oversee and creates individual projects. This includes community profile work for print and web; name badge system; photography requests; and department info sheets for Admissions.
Review materials to ensure they conform to Lewis & Clark standards and practices for visual identity, content, and policy. Collaborates with marketing team on editing and proofreading print and digital materials.
Manage website, production, and social media updates. This will include updating various pages and sites in the lclark.edu domain using our CMS, LiveWhale.
Coordinate and execute marketing research initiatives, such as focus groups, and with the analysis and reporting of quantitative and qualitative marketing data from various sources (website analytics, email marketing, social media analytics, surveys, etc.).
Associate degree (A.S., A.A.) or two-year technical certificate (or 2-3 years of College)
Knowledge of editing tools, methods, and standards, including ability to edit documents in Google docs, the Microsoft suite, and PDF.
Knowledge of marketing concepts and solutions, strategic communications, and quantitative and qualitative market research practices, and an interest in learning more.
Familiarity with current industry-standard email marketing tools, project management software, and design and production software (including Adobe Creative Suite or other publishing systems).
Familiarity with website content management systems, HTML, and social media.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure.
Top-notch communication skills and diplomacy; ability to interact positively with diverse members of the Lewis & Clark community.
Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience working on marketing materials and campaigns.
Experience in higher education marketing.
Nice to Haves
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Rhetoric, English.
Associate degree plus 3 years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree and 2 years of directly related job experience.
Experience with Google Analytics
