Salem Public Library is seeking two energetic and service-oriented individuals to be Team Leaders in Circulation Services front-line operations. The successful candidates for this position will have excellent interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work with a diverse user group both internally and externally, a proven track-record of exceptional customer service and the ability to take the initiative to solve problems for our diverse Salem community. These positions have the primary responsibility to connect customers with library products, services, materials and events. Salem Public Library is part of the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service (CCRLS).

What are the minimum qualifications? •Must pass the pre-employment background check and drug test (including marijuana).
•Must have an Oregon Driver license and meet the City of Salem's driving standards.
•Associate degree and one year of work experience in library services, customer service, office work or other related area with some lead experience, or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential job functions.
•Bilingual skills preferred.
•Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Our Star Candidate will have: •Proven direct customer service experience working with diverse populations.Salem Public Library has over half a million annual visitors.
•Work experience as a Team Leader assisting in training and coordinating efficient workflow. Salem Public Library annual circulation is 1.4 million items and has 30+ support staff including Library Assistants, Interns and High School Aides and 50+ division volunteers at the Main Library and West Salem Branch Library.
•Effective problem solving, decision-making, and adaptability to manage diverse and competing demands.
•Ability to write reports and create spreadsheets.
•Cash handling and cash drawer reconciliation experience.
•Spanish language fluency highly desired.
•Flexibility and high degree of comfort with change.
•Excellent oral and written communications skills.
•Library experience preferable or a working knowledge of library systems and terms.
