Smart Cities Program Manager
R18-667

POSITION PURPOSE
Develops business and customer strategies to strengthen and support business development and create long-term economic value for PGE; proactively identifies potential Smart Cities opportunities and facilitates realization; provides expert knowledge of the industry and developments in PGE’s service area to enhance internal system and product/service planning.
Proactively develops and maintains current market, industry, and technology knowledge; develops expertise in support of potential customer projects and PGE products and services; serves as subject matter expert for employees and clients on issues such as trends, technology, smart cities activity, and impacts to electric infrastructure and distribution.
Builds relationships with customers, potential customers; national, state, regional officials; and local business and economic development partners and agencies; ensures development efforts are supportive of Company goals/interests; represents PGE as the sole company representative in client meetings and communications; develops strategic relationships with providers of new and emerging technologies related to PGE’s business interests.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, management, economics or other related field or equivalent experience.
Typically, eight or more years in business/economic project or program development, real estate or commercial development, infrastructure development or related field.
Advanced knowledge of the various economic development principles, processes, programs, tools and incentives utilized for retention, expansion and recruitment in PGE’s service area, other regions of the United States and other countries.
Advanced knowledge of utility power production, transmission and distribution systems.
Advanced knowledge of electric utility practices and services in other markets in the United States and other countries.
Advanced skills in simultaneously managing multiple large, multi-faceted projects involving multiple sites and parties in PGE’s service area.
Advanced business development skills and techniques, marketing and promotion skills, financial feasibility, pro forma analysis, current economic trends, applicable laws, codes and regulations concerning land use and development processes.
Advanced skills in teamwork, facilitation and negotiation, style flexing, and conflict management, including collaborating and consulting with a wide variety of internal stakeholders and senior management.
Intermediate knowledge of the various organizations and elements that affect economic development, i.e., zoning, ordinances, taxes, transportation, etc.
