Latino Network seeks a bilingual, mission-driven professional with proven nonprofit experience to develop and manage the components of a comprehensive communications plan to further the mission of the organization. The Communications Manager will work with the Director of Development and Communications to draft and distribute external and internal newsletters, steward media relationships, oversee the production of the annual report, write press releases and develop content for the blog on the organization’s website. This person will manage all social media accounts and update the website with current information about staff, programs, and events. This is a rollup-your-sleeves position with the capacity to impact the lives of Latino youth and their families. Develop external communication plans to promote and support program and fundraising activities Utilize tools and best practices to produce compelling content for use in email, website, public relations, earned media and social media messaging Work with Director of Development and Communications to develop high-quality stories for quarterly electronic external and internal newsletters, including design and distribution of newsletters Manage public relations activities, develop press releases, pitch stories, and interview ideas and forge relationships with local media partners and contacts throughout the geographic service area Manage database of constituent lists and groups; serve as the internal expert on audience segmentation strategy and tools Ensure adequate frequency of communications, placement, and coverage throughout the geographic service area Manage the organization’s website and social media accounts, ensuring relevance, timeliness, and support of organizational goals and objectives Regularly captures clients stories to be used for development and marketing collateral with external vendors, translators, and graphic designers to meet the needs of programming, fundraising and communications work plans

Bachelor’s Degree and/or commensurate experience preferred 3+ years of communications experience in the non-profit sector preferred Excellent written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills Spanish proficiency preferred and strongly encouraged - able to translate general communications and review externally translated materials for accuracy Proven ability to manage time and prioritize tasks to meet goals and deadlines Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite & other graphic design tools, Network for Good, Microsoft Office Suite, and website CRM systems Detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects at once

Evening and weekend availability may be required, and work hours are flexible to accommodate program implementation; long hours during peak periods May require heavy lifting and walking during events May work in the community including client homes, schools, churches, parks, community centers, etc. for story gathering and photography purposes Ability to travel frequently for work as needed Undergo and pass a criminal background check
