The City of Salem has a rewarding career opportunity available for a Program Manager with experience in loss prevention and safety. This is a great opportunity for a talented and dedicated individual to join the Risk Management team.
This position oversees the Safety and Loss Prevention program and will assist in making policy-based decisions on the operational risks of the City. As a Safety Program Manager, you will be developing and revising employee training for a diverse range of jobs, sometimes conducting and presenting safety training directly. You will oversee the Public Works Department, city-wide office environments, and provide support for our Fire and Police Departments. You will be responsible for responding to loss events and assisting in the investigation, analysis, and implementation of corrective measures. You will conduct field inspections, provide consultations, and assist in enforcing County, State City and Federal health and safety rules, regulations, statutes, and codes. You will help develop and update safety policies, interact with safety committees, represent the City in OSHA matters, and work with supervisors and management to promote the City's strong commitment to loss prevention and safety within its culture.

What are the minimum qualifications
•Must pass the pre-employment background check.
•Must have an Oregon Driver license and meet the City of Salem's driving standards.
•Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in safety, business administration, or related field, and three years of experience in a related field, OR any combination of experience and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions.
•Safety related certifications preferred (OHST, CSP, ARM, AINS, etc.)
