Hours: M-F, 32hrs/wk Reports to: Operations & Services Manager
Location: Resource Center Pay Range: $15-16/hr

Meals on Wheels People enriches the lives of seniors and assists them in maintaining independence by providing nutritious food, human connections and social support. With the help of more than 5,500 volunteers, our nonprofit organization serves over 5,700 meals daily and more than 1.3 million meals each year across Multnomah, Washington, and Clark Counties. General Summary
Provide intake for participating seniors. Input information into the Client Database for Meals on Wheels participants in Multnomah, Washington and Clark County and communicate new intake and changes to appropriate center staff. Perform Reception duties as assigned.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
• Serve as a liaison between referring partners, Client Services, Center Managers, and staff
o Notify appropriate center of Meals on Wheels new starts and changes in a timely manner
o Work with Client Services staff to assure eligibility of Meals on Wheels clients
o Update client information with changes of address, ensure accuracy and integrity of information within database, correct inaccurate information as necessary
• Handle client concerns and comments in a constructive, professional, and helpful manner
• Receptionist duties may include:
o Refer callers to appropriate staff
o Greet walk-in visitors in a professional, courteous manner
o Maintain a professional appearance of the reception area
o Update outgoing messages as needed
• Word processing, data entry, and other clerical duties as assigned by supervisor
• Other duties as assigned

Education & Knowledge
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business administration, or related field or equivalent work experience a plus
• Knowledge of OAA and Medicaid eligibility requirements preferred

Skills, Abilities & Experience
• Minimum two year experience in office environment
• Bilingual/Bicultural English/Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Asian or African languages preferred
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, computer applications and data entry
• Experience as a telephone receptionist, using a multi-line system
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Excellent interpersonal and team skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy of information

Any satisfactory combination of experience, training and/or education which ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above qualifications.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Fast paced, with significant people interaction via phone. Minimal reaching, bending and stooping. Sitting for extended periods of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, 10 key and phone. Must pass drug and alcohol test.
