A content strategist works to understand business goals and user needs, then helps plan, develop and deliver clear, relevant content that brings the two together.
The ideal candidate will have a strong writing background with experience in creating and implementing systems which keep our words consistently on-message and on-brand. You will lead a team of writers to develop content that is audience-centric, focusing on user comprehension and plain language. From content marketing, to conducting content audits, to supporting Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Paid Search, to writing and editing, you’ll champion and evangelize the power of Content Strategy.
Concept and collaborate with team members to ensure the end deliverables meet strategic need.
Responsible for content creation and working with members of the creative department to deliver effective copy that enhances the end user experience, in all channels including: sales collateral, digital media, advertising, direct mail, and other marketing communications.
Develop health insurance communications to assist in building our brand and helping our members understand their health plan benefits.
Write and manage content with a focus on plain language and user comprehension, as well as for search engine and conversion rate optimization.
Oversee content migrations and prepare plans to migrate and/or redirect content accordingly.
Work with content contributors to keep content fresh, relevant and educational.
Work with writing team to assess, catalogue and organize company content and develop plans to enhance content and messaging in an innovative and engaging manner.
Drive the development of social media council, governance and best practices. Research industry trends to identify topics and concepts that appeal to our customers.
Understand customer personas across a number of markets and disciplines.
Develop creative concepts and persuasively sell them to internal teams.
Develop an understanding of regulatory requirements as it relates to writing health insurance marketing.
Facilitate ongoing analysis of content efficacy and current content strategy for all channels, written or other media.
Mentor teammates and others in content strategy best practices and newly emerging trends in communication channels.
Proof and revise projects, prioritizing feedback and revisions.

o Eight to 12 year’s writing experience. Health insurance experience preferred.
o Ability to partner, lead and accomplish tasks in a cross-functional organization
o Strong understanding of brand and product/service placement
o Must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface internally and externally in a manner that represents that values and brand promise of the company
o Demonstrate strong project management and prioritization skills with a keen sense of how to meet deadlines
o Ability to effectively lead multiple projects and initiatives at one time
o Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or equivalent experience
