The Development Resource Associate serves as a key staff member on the Development Team, focused on identifying and building new relationships that yield financial resources for the agency. This position is a full-time position that reports to the Sustainability Administrator.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Identifies and acquires new donors and in-kind partnerships
•Fundraises for SEI and maintains a donor portfolio of at least $175,000
•Responsible for cultivation and solicitation of donors giving $1 to $1,999 per year
•Creates and submits quarterly fundraising report to supervisor (Quarter 1: July to Sept / Quarter 2: Oct. to Dec. / Quarter 3: Jan to March / Quarter 4: April to June)
•Records donor actions into Raisers Edge (RE) database system
•Responsible for outlining giving campaigns and social media presence for purposes of strategically outreaching to donors
•Identifies new donors friend-raisers and networking mixers
•Provides SEI representation for outreach opportunities
•Partner with appropriate team members to identify and submit new foundation and corporate grants, facilitate and drive corporate employee giving campaigns and employee match programs, as well as assist donor led fundraising and community events.
•Work closely with the Operations Department to design donor focused newsletter & marketing collateral
•Accepts other appropriate duties/responsibilities as assigned by SEI management.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Non Profit Management or a related field highly preferred.
•Proficiency with working in Raisers Edge or a similar database preferred
•Experience fundraising at least $250,000 in cash and in-kind support is required
•Experience with prospect research and writing grants is required
•Process development and continuous program improvement experience highly desired.
•Experience in social services environments desired.
•Must be comfortable with cold-calling organizations and individuals to ask for support
•Must have effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with people of varying social, economic and education levels.
•Must have excellent problem solving skills.
•Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions, rules and procedures; to work independently and to be a vital and contributing part of a team.
•Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented.
•Must have excellent coordination skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines with varying timelines.
•Advanced computer skills to include the entire Microsoft Office Suite.
•Excellent writing skills to include proper grammar, report writing/formatting, proofreading and editing.
•Proven effective communication skills including the ability to effectively interface with all levels and cultures of people.
•Must have current and valid state driver’s license, in good standing with no insurability restrictions and must be insurable under SEI’s auto insurance policy.
