Bring your marketing skills to the Oregon Zoo, where you will support the groundbreaking wildlife research and conservation efforts at one of the region's most popular attractions.
In this position, you will perform a variety of public affairs duties, including project management, production coordination, and content and communications strategy consultation, in support of a wide range of communications deliverables related to overall marketing, brand management and events.
About the Oregon Zoo
Owned and operated by Metro Regional Government, the zoo has an annual attendance of over 1.7 million visitors and an annual budget of over $42 million. The zoo is located along the MAX light rail line, just five minutes from downtown Portland. The Oregon Zoo is home to over 2000 animal specimens representing 214 species of amphibians, birds, fish, invertebrates and mammals. The Zoo, through its affiliate Oregon Zoo Foundation, maintains a membership base of over 44,000 active members and has one of the largest zoo volunteer programs in the country. Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations or a related field, and two years of professional experience in those fields; or any combination of experience and education that provides this applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job.
The ability to communicate in an additional language, in particular Spanish, Russian, Chinese or Vietnamese, is preferred but not required.
