As a Senior Product Manager for New Initiatives, you will contribute directly to a critical area of our product roadmap and work with key stakeholders to help define our product innovation strategy and bring new, differentiated capabilities to market. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Data Science and Product Marketing to develop concepts, test hypotheses, development prototypes and launch new products that enrich our core offerings using natural language processing, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence to meet the business needs of our customers in regulated and unregulated industries
What you'll get to do:
Acting as primary subject matter expert and leading the product strategy and roadmap for Jama Software new initiatives
Owning and creating business cases and product requirements documentation to justify and define new initiative projects
Managing feature iteration throughout the product lifecycle
Collaborating with Product Design on concepts and prototypes, and Engineering on tool/framework evaluation to accelerate development
Developing deep understanding of client needs and market trends, through client interaction and other market research
Communicating the new initiative roadmap with key stakeholders
Education and Experience:
At least 8 years of relevant professional experience, including 5 years in software product management. Experience in enterprise software is a plus.
Proven experience in data science, natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI) and/or analytics
Understanding of technical integrations between SaaS applications, including third-party tools/services that can accelerate innovation initiatives
Demonstrated success launching and managing highly technical, innovative products
Must be experienced at working iteratively in an agile or lean environment, and able to break down large problems into smaller valuable increments.
Must excel working self-directed, within a fast-paced incubator-like environment – individually, in small teams, or across functional groups.
While this role will collaborate with Engineering and Data Scientists for development execution, an understanding of concepts such as text representation techniques, algorithms, statistics, machine translation & compilers, machine learning frameworks and libraries, and big data frameworks (e.g. Spark or Hadoop), text classification & clustering, and syntactic & semantic parsing is a plus.
Some knowledge of Python, Java and/or R is also a plus.
Domain experience in systems engineering, particularly in regulated industries, is a plus - Our customers build life-critical hardware/software systems.
