Minimum $61,081 to range mid-point of $74,823. Placement generally will not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience and internal equity. (Full Range is $61,081 to $88,567)

Job Summary
In this newly created position, the Director of Campus Diversity/Multicultural Affairs will lead campus efforts to improve outcomes related to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Specifically, this position will provide leadership in advancing cultural competency at the campus level; build a welcoming and supportive campus climate for students, faculty and staff; implement best practices for retaining a diverse workforce and student body and employ strategies that foster equitable student success.

This position will have administrative responsibility for researching, developing, implementing and maintaining a range of successful practices supporting a campus climate that values and prioritizes equity, diversity and inclusion. The Director of Campus Diversity/Multicultural Affairs will also be responsible for assessing the effectiveness of current diversity and equity goals, and is expected to lead the campus to measurable improvements.

The position will also teach the following Counseling and Guidance Courses:
CG 180 Intercultural Leadership for Mentees
CG 190 Intercultural Leadership for Mentors
CG 191 Exploring Identity and Diversity for College Students

Responsibilities/Duties

Typical Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Leads Campus equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives and strategic objectives; provides strategic vision, leadership coordination and planning. May lead committees, councils, or other PCC groups; acts as a change agent.
2. Supervises academic professionals, paraprofessionals, technical/support, and/or classified staff. Hires, evaluates, trains, disciplines and recommends dismissal of staff as necessary.
3. Assesses the effectiveness of current diversity and equity goals, and leads the Campus to measurable improvements.
4. Develops and implements cultural competence, social justice and equity workshops and training. May deliver classroom instruction.
5. Collaborates with other college entities to expand, develop and coordinate outreach and awareness programs, such as DACA (undocumented student programs), etc., with community organizations designed to increase the enrollment and success of traditionally marginalized student populations. Serves on committees and boards. Participates in professional organizations and conferences.
6. Collaborates and partners with the PCC Office of Equity and Inclusion on overlapping issues, projects, and initiatives, to ensure alignment with the Office of Equity and Inclusion. Actively engage with District Leader of Diversity Council (DLDC).
7. Acts as a resource for Campus faculty, staff, and students, including resource centers and resource programs.
8. Manages program budget(s); prepares cost estimates, budget recommendations and makes and monitors budget expenditures and adjustments.
9. Provides oversight and management of the Campus Multicultural Center and related programs.
10. Mentors and works with student leaders and other students to support, design, and implement programs, special events, and services that support student success and development.
11. Develops and implements retention programs that support student success. Provides mentoring, job shadowing, seminars, workshops, student involvement programs, support groups, re-entry and transition, etc.
12. Attends conferences and trainings, and researches best practices, policies and regulations, broader social issues, and current theory toward developing, improving, and implementing existing and new programs.
13. Provides Campus or District-wide professional development, faculty and staff educational programs, and presentations for signature events related to assigned area of responsibility.
14. Works with PCC Grants Office and others to identify potential grant sources and opportunities; initiates and coordinates the development of grant proposals and other funding sources that support the College's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. Implements and reports on grant funded projects and programs.
15. Instrumental in promoting focus award program including course work in Social Justice, black studies and women's studies. Coordiante outreach and marketing of program and courses. Coordinate capstone event to celebrate students completing program
16. Provides information on available resources and services. Participates in a variety of meetings, committees, or other related groups to communicate information regarding services, programs, areas of opportunity and other pertinent information related to Center mission and activities. Develops materials for use in outreach and recruitment.
17. Collects, prepares, reviews, analyzes, and reports on a variety of complex information and data and implements changes to programming based on findings; makes recommendations for broader District-wide initiatives to further education equity or equality and other College initiatives. Analyzes Campus and community needs.
18. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, your application materials must show how you meet the following requirements (experience requirements use full-time equivalent):

Masters in Counseling, Psychology (Counseling, Clinical, School, Applied, or Educational), Social Work, Applied Behavioral Science or Education.
OR
Masters in Sociology AND One graduate-level credit-based course in Social Justice or Diversity or Multiculturalism or Multicultural Counseling
OR
Masters in Social Justice
(The Masters degrees above are required to teach CG 180, 190, 191)

Three years' progressively responsible experience related to area of assignment, including two years of lead or supervisory experience.
Successful completion of PCC LEAD Academy or a comparable external leadership training program may substitute for up to 6 months of lead or supervisory experience.
