We’re currently seeking three full-time caregivers “Personal Assistants” for a kind-hearted, engaging man who lives in his own apartment in NE Portland.

Schedule Options:

Schedule 1:
You’ll work 2 shifts, totaling 42 hours:
• 9am to 6pm on Friday (9-hour shift)
• 11am on Sunday to 8pm on Monday (33-hour shift)

Schedule 2:
You’ll work 2 shifts, totaling 42 hours:
• 6pm on Friday to 2pm on Saturday (20-hour shift)
• 2pm on Tuesday to 12pm on Wednesday (22-hour shift)

Schedule 3:
You’ll work 2 shifts, totaling 42 hours:
• 2pm on Saturday to 11am on Sunday (21-hour shift)
• 12pm on Wednesday to 9am on Thursday (21-hour shift)

*You’ll also work your regular hours on Agency holidays.

He is easy-going and loves others with a big sense of humor that can match his own. He enjoys his independence above all else and has a variety of interests such as watching old-time movies, listening to old country and psychobilly rock albums, meeting up with friends in the community, and collecting trucks and trains.

Back at his home in NE Portland, you’ll support him with daily living activities including showering, bathroom use, transfers, dressing, and medication administration. You’ll also assist with household chores and meal preparation. He is eager to work with personal assistants who will listen to him and allow him to be as independent as possible.

Driving is not a requirement for this position. However, if you choose to drive, there is parking available behind his apartment building. He lives close to the MAX for those who rely on public transit and often takes the MAX or TriMet to travel to and from various locations.

• $12.29 per hour. Annual wage increase based on satisfactory performance.
• Eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 hours per week.
• Holiday pay (double pay for the first 12 hours of any agency holiday shift that you work).

• 3 weeks of paid time off, rising to 4 weeks after 5 years of service at UCP.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Be able to pass our pre-hiring screenings, including a reference check, a physical with a lifting test of 50lbs, and a criminal history background check.
• Experience in the mental health or developmental disability field preferred, but not required.
