The Equity & Inclusion Consultant is a member of the Health Department’s Office of Equity & Inclusion and reports to the Equity & Inclusion Manager. The Office of Equity & Inclusion provides equity organizational development for about 1,700 employees. The team strives to support an environment that advances racial justice and promotes a culture of safety, trust and belonging for all employees. The Equity & Inclusion Consultant serves as one of the change agents for ambitious culture-building initiatives related to establishing an organizational culture of safety, trust, and belonging. This is outlined in The Workforce Equity Strategic Plan. In this role, the position will focus on three initiatives: 1) Design a racial equity leadership development plan that creates a clear and meaningful pathway to support the personal and interpersonal transformation of all employees in the Health Department, 2) Support the growth of employees by providing relevant learning strategies that may include: coaching, mentoring, consultation, technical assistant, facilitation, trainings, presentations to advance racial equity and inclusion work, 3) Specifically support the growth of managers and supervisors in their racial equity practice and understanding.
The Equity & Inclusion Consultant will work closely with key stakeholder groups to ensure alignment and coordination of efforts.
