The North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD), which is under the Department of Business and Community Services (BCS), has an immediate opening for a highly motivated, detail-oriented person to fill a full-time Accountant 2 position. This position will provide direct support to department management and administration in budget preparation, analysis, forecasting and related financial matters. The incumbent will be responsible for performing the complete range of duties including five-year forecasting, preparation of quarterly financial reports, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, assistance with preparing the comprehensive annual financial report, and complex financial analysis as needed. Other regular duties may include payment processing, general ledger journal entries, financial records generation and maintenance, as well as assistance with federal financial reports, audit work-paper preparation, and various compliance tasks. An Accountant may be assigned to one or more work areas within the Department in a cross training program.
The Accountant 2 is the fully qualified professional level within the Accountant classification series. Work may be performed within the fiscal work unit of a large division or County department or within the County’s Finance Department.
Successful candidates in the Accountant classification will have the combination of knowledge, skills and abilities to:
* Learn, understand and interpret complex financial concepts
* Ensure compliance with contracts and/or grant requirements
* Formulate a problem-solving approach and carry problem solving through to resolution
* Use sophisticated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
* Represent the NCPRD/Business Community Services Division in a professional and customer-oriented manner
