White Bird, Portland, Oregon’s premiere nonprofit contemporary dance presenting organization, seeks a full time Communications Director. The Communications Director’s role is to lead the design and implementation of strategic communications and marketing efforts to increase ticket-sales, promote engagement with donors/patrons, and increase awareness of White Bird’s mission. The CD will report directly to the two Co-Founders and will work with the Staff and Board of Directors. The CD is the channel through whom all White Bird news is shared with the public. With this in mind, the CD’s task is to communicate effectively the White Bird brand and mission.

We are looking for someone with demonstrated skills in:
• Graphic design--comfortable with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
• Media/press relations
• Strong writing skills, attention to details in editing
• Social media content creation, aesthetic sensibilities, and campaign implementation
• Web design and maintenance
• SEO, Google Analytics
• Email marketing- campaign design and implementation,
• Budget development and management

Video-editing skills and advanced graphic design skills are a plus, but not necessary.
Additional responsibilities include attending and working at all performances as well as seeing each dance company, front-of-house load-in at the theater as well as load-out.

Salary ranging from $40,000 and up, commensurate with skills and experience. Includes health insurance, vacation and personal/sick days.
