The In-Home Safety and Reunification Services Program (ISRS) Supervisor at Self Enhancement Inc. (SEI) provides a combination of direct services, case assignment, tracking, and monitoring, crisis support, and personnel supervision, such as timesheet approvals and other administrative responsibilities.
Direct services includes serving a full caseload of families in crisis (mainly in their own homes), to address safety is-sues for families with children in the home, in situations where children are returning home, or when planning for family reunification. While services are being provided, the Coordinator will work closely with a DHS caseworker to support child safety, stabilize and improve parental protection of children and help families access necessary formal, and informal community resources and support.
This position reports to the Stability Program Manager and is a part of SEI’s Community and Family Programs building, located at 4803 NE 7th Ave., Portland OR 97217.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•Short term intensive case management to resolve safety threat, improve parental protective capacity, develop interventions and assess change to lead to a safe home environment.
•Work with the Stability Program Manager to provide supervision of the ISRS Team, including; case assignment, tracking, monitoring, case staffing, crisis support, and other supervisory and administrative tasks for the ISRS team.
•Monitor referrals from the DHS District Office and assign, or reject, all referrals within 24 hours.
•Review and edit all case notes written by the ISRS team and provide coaching when necessary to ensure the quality of case note writing for the team is acceptable.
•Work with the Stability Program Manager to complete monthly invoices and billing documentation to submit to the DHS District Office.
•Provide services in the family’s home when family members are at home and during hours most likely to impact child safety.
•Provide parenting skills training using goal-oriented Individual Action Plans.
•Work closely with DHS caseworkers to create a safety plans for families.
•Attend Child Safety and Family Decision meetings, or other case planning discussions with DHS staff and referred families.
•Prepare written weekly case notes for direct service families, reviewing progress of family in identified safety and change services. Also prepare additional or specialized written reports, as requested, for the purposes of court hearings or specific case planning meetings.
•Coordinate services with other social service agencies (i.e. job training, financial planning, etc.).
•Keep thorough and up-to-date client records in accordance with agency file requirements.
•Attend scheduled training sessions and other training geared toward professional growth. Attend agency staff meetings.
•Accept other appropriate duties/responsibilities as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

•A Master’s Degree in Social Sciences or a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science plus five years’ experience working with families and children may substitute for a Master’s Degree.
•A minimum of 1 year experience providing services with DHS to families involved with child welfare.
•An understanding of the ETO Data systems and the ability to support others working in these systems
•Must be a highly skilled individual with needs assessment and case management experience.
•Knowledge of crisis, cognitive and behavioral interven¬tions.
•Must have effective interpersonal skills.
•Must have the ability to immediately motivate and connect with parents successfully.
•Must have excellent writing skills, be highly organized and self-motivated.
•Must have valid driver's license, insurance and own reliable transportation.
