Under close supervision the Residential Counselor works as a member of an interdisciplinary team to implement and monitor treatment for residents within the residential program. This position works with residents who are under the supervision of the Psychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB). Clients may have co-occurring disorders including but not limited to traumatic brain injuries (TBI), substance use and addictions, and/or developmental delays. This position involves participation and implementation of program goals and objectives to promote a strengths-based, resident-centered approach to assisting residents in achieving individual goals and ultimately transitioning to a less restrictive setting.
These positions are located in NW Portland. Day, swing and overnight shifts available, both part-time and full-time. There may be some flexibility in specific schedules to accomodate the needs of a strong, qualified candidate.
Level I requires a High school diploma or GED equivalent
Level II requires a BA degree in a behavioral science field or a combination of education and mental health work experience.
Some work experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness is preferred.
Operate Computer hardware and software (Including Electronic Health Record Software) at a level to effectively perform the job functions, including entering and retrieving data.
