This recruitment will be used to fill Community, Facility, and Screener Human Services Investigator positions in regular, limited duration, temporary, on-call, full or part time assignments within the department.
As a Human Services Investigator, you will investigate abuse allegations involving residents living in residential care facilities, assisted living facilities, and adult care homes; conduct investigations on individuals living in their own homes in the community; interview witnesses, alleged victims and perpetrators; collect documentation and prepare comprehensive written reports.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Knowledge of principles and practices of investigation and research, including critical interviewing techniques, conflict management
Knowledge of and ability to appropriately apply pertinent federal, state, and local laws
Ability to accurately assess individual situations carefully and make discretionary judgments and recommendations
Ability to effectively organize/prioritize work to meet pressing deadlines, and work independently as well as a member of a team using good judgment, excellent verbal/written communications, and decision making skills
Ability to research, compile, analyze, and summarize material into understandable formal reports in a timely manner
Effectively understand and demonstrate sensitivity to diverse cultures and individuals

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
Ability to promote a culture of respect, inclusiveness, and appreciation of diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and values
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social science, social service or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible case management experience, with at least two (2) years beyond entry level work
Must have a valid driver's license by the time of hire
Must pass a criminal background check
