The Accounts Payable/Payroll Accountant will be primarily responsible for Self Enhancement’s Inc. (SEI) Accounts Payable and Payroll processes as well as providing additional support to the Accounting Department in areas that include cash receipts and general ledger for all SEI entities. This is a full-time position that reports to the Controller.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Review all AP invoices and check requests for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
•Process AP invoices as needed, including general ledger coding and input into the accounting system.
•Responsible for weekly AP check runs and processing checks on demand.
•Filing of AP invoices, journal entry reports, and other finance related forms and documents.
•Respond to all vendor inquiries; reconcile vendor statements, research and correct vendor statements.
•Review employee timesheets and reports to ensure payroll accuracy.
•Process bi-weekly payroll using Paycom and upload related payroll entries into Sage Intacct accounting system.
•Reconciliation and distribution of annual forms W-2 and 1095-C.
•Responsible for preparing and processing daily bank deposits.
•Reconcile general ledger accounts as they relate to payables, payroll, and other as needed.
•Prepare annual forms 1099/1096.
•Serve as backup for Accounting Specialist - Credit Cards.
•Accepts other appropriate duties/responsibilities as assigned.
•A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or three or more years accounting work experience.
•Experience with processing all aspects of payroll.
•Experience working in a non-profit environment a plus.
•Solid computer skills including MS Office products. Sage Intacct and Paycom preferred.
•Must be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
•Ability to work productively within a team environment.
•Ability to interact and communicate professionally with a diverse group of people.
•Must be dependable.
•Must have a positive and professional attitude.
•Must have current and valid state driver’s license, in good standing with no insurability restrictions and must be insurable under SEI’s auto insurance policy.
