A little about you:
We are looking for someone who is focused on furthering their career within the accounting field. The right candidate will be driven, extremely detail oriented, and not afraid of extensive data entry. The ability to think quickly and contribute solutions is key to being successful in this role. A willingness to jump in where needed and learn new processes across all accounting functions is absolutely critical.

Job Description:
This role works closely with the entire Accounting team, assisting in handling the day to day accounting functions, and taking on special projects as needed. In addition to fielding daily AP and AR transactions, this position is responsible for identifying, researching, and resolving finance, accounting, and tax issues that impact the company. This role also reviews and prepares accounting and tax documents, including cash management analysis and compliance reporting. As such, this position provides extensive support to ensure the department is set up for success. Flexibility will be at the core of this role’s daily practice, as there will be opportunities to learn the many facets of accounting, including providing backup for payroll functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Perform accounting and clerical functions to support the accounting department.
-Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards, and the rules, regulations, and code of conduct of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) sections and regulations.
-Develop, streamline, and implement improved internal accounting and financial analysis controls and reporting processes to strengthen accuracy and effectiveness of internal accounting system.
-Research tax and accounting issues and report findings to management.
-Perform financial budgeting and forecast reporting and present findings to management.
-Prepare financial models focused on cash flow and assets.
-Prepare reports and documentation to provide to external financiers, CPAs and auditors for use in monitoring loan compliance and tax return preparation.
-Apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to the above duties.

Skills and Qualifications:
-Accounting degree or minimum of three years experience in an accounting role.
-Experience in Netsuite strongly preferred.
-Knowledge or experience with basic accounting principles, journal entries, and spreadsheets.
-Attention to detail -- ability to analyze data and recognize anomalies and probable trends.
-Ability to collaborate with other members of the accounting team and also work on projects without supervision when appropriate.
-Ability to manage time effectively, handling both periodic projects and helping with special assignments as needed.
-Payroll processing experience a plus.

Department: Accounting
Reports to: Controller
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, 40 hours per week.
Compensation: This is a salaried position; range will be discussed at initial interview.
