This is responsible staff work involving clerical, technical and general assistance work. Duties may include transporting equipment to and from offsite locations, assist with developing staff reports, could include working anywhere in the department an assistant may be needed. This position is a part-time career job, work schedule Monday – Friday. Hours will be arranged between employee and employer but work will typically be performed in the morning hours.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to assemble, organize and present statistical, financial and factual information derived from a variety of original and secondary sources; ability to work independently and to schedule time effectively after initial direction; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with employees, officials, and the public. Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of a law enforcement agency is desirable.

What are the minimum qualifications? •Must pass the pre-employment background check.
•Must have an Oregon Driver license and meet the City of Salem's driving standards.
•High school graduate or GED, supplemented by courses in commercial subjects, and one (1) year of clerical experience, preferably in a mail room and courier services operations and/or some experience in a print shop environment, or any combination of experience and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions.
