Sr. Manager, Enterprise Quality

About This Role…

The Sr. Manager of Enterprise Quality will oversee the execution of our Enterprise Quality strategy, including the continued development of our Lean Six Sigma program, the advancement of our issue and incident response program, and the institution of quality standards. This person will be responsible for many facets of our Quality Management System. The Sr. Manager of Enterprise Quality will have a direct impact on Business Operations and Customer Satisfaction initiatives as well as responsibility for overseeing and mentoring Lean Six Sigma improvement teams and projects. This person will interact with organizational leadership to stimulate management thinking by posing new ways of doing things and challenges conventional wisdom by demonstrating successful application of new methodologies. The Sr Manager of Enterprise Quality is analytical, results and process driven by nature, and has a desire and passion for metrics, standards, and continuous improvement.

•Understands and can help implement all facets of Quality into processes, software, tools, and outcomes
•Manages and deploys a team of experts to accomplish Enterprise Quality goals
•Serves as a mentor for staff across the company but can also dig-in to the details to drive results

Your Next Challenge…

•Serve as an advisor to leadership to help ensure achievement of the company’s quality plans and goals
•Assist leadership across the company, but especially in development and operations roles, in the identification and evaluation of Continuous Improvement initiatives to achieve operational effectiveness and efficiency; help scope improvement opportunities
•Lead a portfolio of improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies; manage the pipeline of Continuous Improvement projects; manage the review of projects with Senior Management
•Improve process maturity across the company; work with leaders to achieve operational effectiveness and efficiency
•Deliver Lean Six Sigma training; manage the overall LSS training program; maintain relationships with outside professionals to deliver more advanced training as needed
•Mentor Yellow Belts, Green Belts, and project teams; advance our company LSS influencer (embedded continuous improvement resources) program
•Complete a Corrective Action/Preventative Action process; mature existing Risk and Issue management process; ensure robust incident response processes exist along with appropriate response mechanisms
•Mature our use of RCAs, including the reporting and implementing of corrective actions
•Support enterprise metrics, reporting, scorecards, visual boards, and dashboards
•Support the Enterprise Capability Model, Value Stream Maps & subsequent enterprise business process documentation, ensuring the expansion of the enterprise process library, driving process maturity, and aligning processes to industry standards (ISO, Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing, Operational Best Practices for Statewide Large-Scale Assessment Programs)

•Ensures accountability – Demonstrated ability to facilitate or lead diverse teams to achieve a common goal, and an ability to foster cross-team learning and team building skills with sound negotiation and issue resolution skills
•Collaborates, instills trust – Ability to collaborate and establish effective team and individual work relationships with a wide range of employees, expertise levels, functional groups, and to interact with all levels within the organization
•Ability to apply systems thinking to generate solutions; focus on process and Value Stream rather than isolated events; be systematic in identifying problem areas and clearly defining the risks or opportunities; ability to identify root cause of problems and creatively problem solve
•Ability to provide training and facilitate application of Lean Six Sigma philosophies, principles and techniques and implement new approaches and techniques for process improvement
•Able to organize and schedule people and tasks; use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans; manage multiple projects

Your Education and Experience …

•Must have at least 6 years of Quality Management experience with 3 years as a Black-Belt practitioner; Demonstration of tangible hard savings and/or risk reduction
•Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with portfolio of documented projects and/or work experience demonstrating utilization of Lean and Six Sigma toolsets ideally within an Information Technology, Services, or primarily transactional business environment
•BA/BS in Industrial or Software Engineering or related field study; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
•Previous experience managing staff across multiple disciplines of a quality organization (e.g., LSS Leads, Enterprise Analysts, Project Managers, Auditors, Risk and Issue Managers, or other Quality professionals) is highly desired
•Experienced in ISO, Agile SCRUM, Lean Kanban, Waterfall or hybrid of these methods
•Service industry experience is required, software development industry a big plus
