What you will do:
The Assistant Category Manager supports the Category Manager by helping lead the strategy for the Tillamook cheese category. This is a cross-functional role that requires excellent relationship building skills, presentations skills, and project management skills.

Here’s a day in the life:

Initiate research projects, working with Consumer Insights Manager to develop research scope, analysis information, and develop insights that drive strategic decisions on brands or products
Ensure product development projects are moving forward on schedule, from concept development to commercialization.
New product pricing, including data gathering, competitive analysis, margin analysis, and seeking necessary internal approvals
Lead discussion in cross-functional product meetings (Product Lifecycle Management)
Develop strategy briefs for new products, packaging, and communications.
Create sales and marketing materials, including sell sheets, presentations, and product samples
Support Category Manager with ad hoc projects, including sales and consumer data analysis, trend research, competitive profiling, distribution gap analysis, and more.
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills
Work independently
Utilize MS Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Skills you’ll need:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in a marketing capacity in food or beverage consumer packaged goods

Experience:

Hands on experience in analyzing and deriving insights from scan and panel data
Experience in working with cross-functional teams, serving as the primary communication hub for projects

An appreciation for real food

A solid understanding of how food manufacturers/marketers go to market through retail or foodservice channels

Evidence of excellence in academic and or professional achievement.
