The City of Portland's Office of Management and Finance, Bureau of Revenue and Financial Services is seeking two Revenue Auditors to join their team.
The Revenue Division is seeking two Revenue Auditors to plan, organize and conduct financial audits of routine to moderate complexity to verify taxes due to the City of Portland and partner jurisdictions. Revenue Auditors are responsible for planning, organizing and conducting revenue audits to ensure the effective reporting and collection of all required taxes and fees.
This position requires a sound knowledge of federal, state and local laws and policies, especially tax laws, and the ability to independently conduct audits requiring the application of legal knowledge and principles. The Revenue Auditor is expected to communicate effectively on behalf of the City with CPAs, tax attorneys and business owners and managers on the interpretation and impact of laws, regulations and policies. Revenue Auditors are also expected to research a variety of topics and prepare comprehensive financial analysis and revenue estimates, if needed, on the research performed.
