Program / Department Summary
The People and Strategy Team ensures that Mercy Corps has the people, strategies and learning that will enable it to be a world-class, cutting edge, humanitarian organization, creating transformational change in the world. We do this through: the recruitment, retention and development of the best global talent. Our aim is to drive strategic thinking and planning at all levels of the organization; create a robust body of research to guide us internally and externally and steward the organizational culture. General Position Summary
The Recruitment Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting Mercy Corps’ Global Talent team by providing a wide range of administrative and project-related support. The Recruitment Coordinator’s primary role will be to support US based recruiters, as well as Global Senior Recruiters when needed. Additionally, the Recruitment Coordinator will provide support for special projects as assigned by the Global Talent Acquisition Manager or the Senior Director of Global Talent. During high volume periods, the Recruitment Coordinator will also assist with sourcing, screening and other recruiting tasks for open junior level US roles and internships.
Essential Job Responsibilities
TALENT ACQUISITION SUPPORT
Edit and format position descriptions and post open roles to Mercy Corps’ career page using JobVite, as well as external job boards as appropriate.
Research relevant and effective job boards for generating diverse talent choices for Mercy Corps’ current and long-term talent needs.
Support maintenance of a job board tracker.
Support Talent team in collecting phone and email references as requested.
Complete new hire and change paperwork to submit to Mercy Corps’ Global HR.
Follow up on outstanding paperwork for new hires, changes and short-term assignments.
Contribute toward the maintenance of the team Google drive.
Schedule meetings with hiring managers and senior level leaders as needed.
Assist with resume reviews, introductory interviews and other recruitment support for junior level US roles and internships during peak hiring seasons.
Event coordination and representation as needed.
SPECIAL PROJECT SUPPORT
Provide administrative support and project management to assigned projects from the Senior Director of Global Talent and other members of the Global Talent team, including but not limited to the editing and creation of presentations, meeting materials and policy documents.
Coordination, logistics and scheduling of our Leadership Assessment Process (LEAP).
Support Talent Team communications and reporting, including WorkPlace Facebook posts, basic infographics and basic photo/video editing.
Attend, contribute to and take notes for Talent Team meetings.

Accountability to Beneficiaries
Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our beneficiaries and to international standards guiding international relief and development work, while actively engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of our field projects.

Works Directly With: Global Talent Team, People and Strategy Team, Global HR Team
Knowledge and Experience
AA degree or equivalent in human resources, business administration, social science or a relevant field.
1- 2 years of experience in administrative and coordination support for multiple team members, preferably in recruitment/talent acquisition or HR.
High-level of proficiency with technology, including demonstrated expertise in MS Office Suite, JobVite and Google apps.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to work in a high-volume fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities with grace and proficiency.
Strong written communication skills, including attention to detail and a sharp eye for editing.
Self-motivated, demonstrated willingness to take initiative and take responsibility for tasks with minimal supervision, solutions-focused and innovative problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated interest in talent acquisition with a strong desire to work with a leading international relief and development organization.
Experience with internet research techniques and applicant tracking systems preferred.
Ability to communicate, build relationships and influence effectively across diverse cultures and geographical distances with sensitivity.
Fluency in French, Spanish or Arabic is preferred.
A successful Recruitment Coordinator will be a continuous learner who is interested in developing their skills in talent acquisition, administration and project management. The individual will develop and maintain productive professional relationships with the Global Talent Team and brader People Team. S/he will possess the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while remaining focused on the quality of support and project goals. S/he will be flexible, resilient, possess sound judgment and have a good sense of humor. Must be comfortable working in ambiguity.
Living Conditions / Environmental Conditions
This position is based in Portland, Oregon, work on weekends and evenings may be required during emergency and high periods.Mercy Corps team members represent the agency both during and outside work hours when deployed in a field posting or on a visit/TDY to a field posting. Team members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs and MC's policies, procedures, and values at all times and in all in-country venues.
