The City of Tigard's Design and Communication Team is currently recruiting for a Digital Communication Coordinator (30-32 hours per week) . The person in this role will think creatively and strive to innovate in how the city communicates with the community incorporating "big picture" thinking.

This part-time position qualifies for the city's full-time benefits package.

•Manage the city's social media platforms
•Develop messages and themes to promote city programs and goals across a variety of social media platforms
•Write, edit, and produce communications for internal and external audiences and platforms (including web, print, and social media).
•Provide analytics for website and social media network sites, analyze agency branding effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative metrics, and provide regular reports and recommendations.
•Create content for and produce Cityscape, Tigard's monthly e-newsletter
•Other duties, as assigned.


Any combination of experience and training which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
•Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, public administration or a related field OR equivalent technical training and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills AND
•Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in communication, marketing, and/or and public information programs, including at least 1 year managing social media in a business setting / environment
Preferred Education/Experience •Bilingual – Spanish preferred
•Experience in digital content management and SEO; experience working with a variety of media content and outlets including social media platforms; Adobe Creative Suite programs.

Schedule: This position is 30-32 hours per week (Monday-Thursday) *The hours are flexible between working hours of 7-6 p.m. May work occasional evening/weekend.
