A day in the life:
-Participate in project development activities prior to contacts being awarded, including reviewing contract documentation and providing feedback.
-Read and understand contract documentation prior to the start of work. During work, interpret documentation, anticipate potential problems, propose solutions and work with others to resolve these problems.
-Inspect and monitor construction work to assure that materials and work are performed according to plans.
-Reject work or materials that does not meet contract requirements.
-Measure and record contractor’s work and prepare source documents as work is performed to justify payments.
-Monitor project safety procedures and traffic control.
-Spot check survey stakes, grades, stations, locations and alignments prior to placement of construction materials.
-Ensure all required tests are performed and documented.
-Prepare and submit documentation and reports according to contract requirements.
-Work around the hazards posed by construction sites, irregular terrain, traffic and weather. May work flexible hours and be on call 24/7, including holidays. Lift at least 50 pounds of inspection, survey and testing equipment.

What we need:
-An Associate's degree in Engineering Technology from a recognized community college or technical school of engineering and four years of experience directly related to engineering;
-Five and one-half years (66 months) of sub-professional engineering experience
-An equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Additionally, driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
