The Engineering Division of the City of Salem has an exciting career opportunity for a licensed civil engineer. Our Engineering Division is currently looking for an engineer to join our development plan review team. The team reviews, evaluates, analyzes and approves engineered plans for private development for conformance with design and construction standards. During construction, team member support continues with active communication between Public Works Inspectors and consultant engineers to problem solve and resolve issues during construction.

Applying lessons learned during project development and construction, this position also develops or revises City Design Standards along with coordination with other departments and jurisdictions on acceptable methods and industry practices.

Professional development opportunities are also available for this position including assignments to design transportation system or public utility (sanitary sewer, stormwater, water) improvement projects as well.

What are the minimum qualifications?
Must pass the pre-employment background check.
Must have an Oregon Drive license and meet the City of Salem's driving standards.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or a related field, and four years of experience in a related field, or any other combination of experience and training that demonstrate position of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions.
Professional Civil Engineer License required.
