Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to plan, coordinate and supervise all routine and demand maintenance services for the district. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, small equipment repairs and staff supervision practices. Since this position oversees a segment of the maintenance budget, the supervisor should also have experience building, monitoring and managing a budget.

This position receives general supervision from the Maintenance Operations Manager and exercises direct supervision over one (1) part-time and four (4) full-time employees.

Components of the job include (but are not limited to):
Develop and implement maintenance schedules, evaluate effectiveness and determine to initiate, terminate, improve or expand.
Identify equipment and supply needs. Supervise and monitor the procurement, distribution, care and use of equipment and supplies.
Identify, plan, prepare cost estimates, schedule projects, prepare written specifications and oversee delivery of contract services and equipment
Responsible for the recruitment, selection, supervision and evaluation of assigned staff
Manage Department budget preparation and administration

Successful applicants will possess any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would likely provide the applicant with the required knowledge, skills and abilities. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be with a minimum of five (5) years increasingly responsible experience in fleet and equipment maintenance or related field, including three (3) years of supervisory experience and a two-year degree from an accredited college with major course work in automotive or diesel technology, business management, supervision, or related fields.

Successful applicants will have knowledge and experience in:
Principles and practices required to manage a full-service automotive and diesel/combustion engine repair and maintenance shop.
Principles and practices of public administration, including budgeting, purchasing and maintenance of public records.
Methods, materials, tools and testing equipment utilized in automotive and equipment maintenance and repair.
Organizing, coaching, supervising, and training staff.
Understand, interpret, explain and apply state/federal/local laws and codes applicable to areas of responsibility.
This position is considered to be exempt from overtime and is not represented by a labor union. Salaries typically begin at the beginning of the pay scale. Successful applicants must also complete a successful background check and possess an Oregon driver's license and good driving record.
