This position will be a full time position that will work Monday through Friday, typically between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm. The position is located at Cascadia's administrative offices near the Lloyd Center in NE Portland.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accurate recording and analyzing of fiscal transactions of the organization and its affiliated entities. The duties include all aspects of the accounting cycle from preparing journal entries to assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements, as well as assisting with annual audits of the various entities. The Senior Accountant will also prepare consolidating and eliminating entries between the Housing software (Yardi) and the Company software (SAGE).
Four years of college coursework in accounting or business, or equivalent experience.
Four years of experience in a mid to large size accounting environment, preferably in a non-profit organization.
Certified Public Accountant, preferred
Experience and knowledge of Accounting Systems
Knowledge of SAGE 100 and/or Yardi preferred
Proficiency in Excel including Pivot Tables and Lookup functions
Knowledge of data review and reporting
Familiarity with standard office procedures and practices related to record-keeping
Knowledge of accounting and budget principles; research methods
Ability to compute basic statistics including mathematical averages and percentages
Ability to set up and maintain relational database files; perform queries, and retrieve data to prepare reports
Ability to adapt to changing technology
Ability to read, interpret, research, explain and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures related to program business
Ability to prepare complex reports
