Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, generally 7:30am-4:30pm

Position Summary:
The Research Analyst is responsible for the extraction, collection, cultivation, validation, organization and reporting of data and information to support the office of University Analytics, Research and Assessment (UARA) including support of college-/school-specific professional accreditation, university accreditation, compliance, policy development, strategic planning, program review, student learning assessment, and other continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work in a collaborative manner with team members and stakeholders to, extract, collect, cultivate, validate, manipulate, organize, analyze statistically and report data in a timely manner.
Select best data sources, extract, and apply manipulation/analysis processes within a comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem. 60%
2. Migrate and blend assessment, accreditation and other data and processes within/between systems, and maintain data health. 15%
3. Develop and maintain timely and accurate data retrieval, blending, manipulation and delivery processes and produce reports to support UARA functionality, specifically accreditation. Provide reports (raw data, basic analyses and statistical analyses, interactive visualizations) to support the University Analytics, Research and Assessment team, charge and function including cyclical and ad hoc projects. 15%
4. This position will inform selection/maintenance of software/tools/processes in service of UARA and in support of accreditation across the university including data migration and data hygiene considerations. As needed.
5. Other duties as assigned. As needed.

Scope of Work: Work involves complex projects with minimal to moderate guidance. Independently researches systems, material, information and data for operational action. Supports the execution of departmental initiatives and plans. Acts as a subject matter expert. Works within, and is cross-trained for, a highly-collaborative, team-oriented environment with multiple stakeholders from across campus. Assists AVP of UARA in keeping leaders and stakeholders informed of results, outcomes and impediments to this work.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in research/methods, statistics/analytical-assessment, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or other quantitative, analytical, or technological field that provides the required skills for the position.
Two years of experience working with complex relational databases. Working knowledge of SQL, Access, Excel, Power BI, and DAX. Must possess strong experience and capabilities in the areas of data extraction, collection, cultivation, blending, validation, manipulation, organization, statistical-analysis and reporting within various timelines
An equivalent combination of education and experience that provide comparable knowledge and abilities may be considered.
Experience with educational data entry, storage, extraction, transformation, cleaning, manipulation, analysis programs (Banner, Blackboard, SPSS, MS Access, REDCap, Qualtrics, Taskstream, Excel, Power BI, DAX, R Programming, Python, Salesforce/TargetX, Argos, and other systems, preferred).
Experience in automating data extraction/report processes preferred.
Proficiency in technical writing and data visualization preferred.
Experience in cross-organizational data governance preferred.
Advanced knowledge and experience of statistics preferred.
Higher education experience, specifically in data for accreditation, preferred.
Prior experience with university institutional analytics, research and assessment preferred.

Able to demonstrate a high degree of consistency in selecting the best data sources and extraction, manipulation, and analyses procedures within a complex and dynamic data ecosystem.
Able to migrate and blend data and processes within/between systems.
Able to focus on data confidentiality, health, hygiene and care including consistent vigilance toward data accuracy, organization, cross-checks, integrity and streamlined/consistent solutions.
Demonstrated ability to provide actionable reports on cyclical and ad hoc projects including reports consisting of raw data, of basic analyses and of deep statistical analyses.
