We are recruiting for a game changer – someone with substantial experience creating interactive, instructionally sound learning content in a fast paced production environment. We are transforming our traditional, predominantly lecture-based content into blended learning experiences that are as exciting and advanced as our products. The instructional designer will work with our internal design team as well as subject matter experts and stakeholders to produce a variety of knowledge assets.

The qualified candidate will have a solid instructional design foundation, the ability to translate highly technical content into easy-to-understand, engaging learning content, and strong project management skills to balance competing priorities. The desired candidate is a dynamic team player who is self-sufficient working as an individual contributor, is adept at building effective relationships within our geographically distributed team and across our global company, and, thrives in a collaborative team environment where resource and knowledge sharing are encouraged to advance the collective good. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of, or field experience in, data center management, systems management monitoring, networking, programming, and/or security.

As a Senior Instructional Designer at Puppet, you will:

Drive creative and cutting-edge strategies to develop and implement scalable solutions that engage the audience, increase retention, transfer skills and knowledge, and drive product adoption.
Define, implement, and govern instructional design processes such as content development and review, continuous quality review, contributor and consumer feedback, and an overall content lifecycle process to ensure timely and sustainable alignment with product releases.
Partner with cross-functional team members to lead curriculum development and certification programs.
Create synchronous and asynchronous content that may include instructor-led training, microlearning, videos, and simulations to break down highly technical concepts to simple learning blocks.
Build assessments to measure knowledge transfer and capstone activities for demonstrating mastery.

Who you will be collaborating with…

Subject matter experts on our product marketing, engineering, professional services, and technical support teams whose knowledge and skill can be leveraged for both internal and external knowledge management initiatives
Sales leadership and team members to create onboarding and ongoing sales enablement content

Who are you?

You are an excellent visual narrator. You storyboard, create imagery out of ideas, and present facts in engaging and interesting ways.
You are an educator who enjoys coaching and consulting on learning design and development when working with subject-matter-experts and stakeholders.
You are a dynamic and collaborative player who is adept at building effective cross-functional relationships as well as internal relationships within our geographically distributed team.
You are committed to working in and fostering an inclusive, diverse, and respectful culture.

What valuable experience and skills will you bring to the table?
