This position is an exceptional opportunity to apply your team leadership skills in an advanced level SQL Server administrator role for the Applications Support team. As a Sr. Database Administrator (DBA) at Washington County, you will be working to support a growing county with the IT mission of: Enable. Support. Always. In addition to operational support, this position has lead responsibility on SQL Server standards and practices, technology guidance, planning, upgrades, and implementation of new systems. The Sr. DBA is a key member of the Application Support team and reports to the Enterprise Business Application Manager. Occasional after-hours and on-call support may be required for changes, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate will possess advanced level experience in a multi-server SQL Server environment supporting 24/7 operations and the ability to lead a team of database and systems professionals to achieve project goals and milestones. The individual in this role should also be customer focused, possess sophisticated technical knowledge of SQL Server 2005-2016, including reporting services, SSAS, SSIS, replication, and be experienced with data warehouse architecture. Maintenance and implementation experience is also what we are seeking in a successful contender for this exceptional opportunity.
Education and Experience:
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
A Bachelor's Degree or four (4) years of experience in computer science, or related field; AND
A minimum of five (5) years of advanced database design and administration experience.
