CAP is excited to announce that we are hiring a Temporary AIDS Walk Coordinator! Coordination includes all program planning and implementation leading up to the event, as well as the program evaluation and review the event afterwards. All job duties required by this temporary job position will be performed from July through mid-September.
Responsibilities include: Collaborating with Volunteer Resources to select and volunteers prior to the AIDS Walk, facilitating efforts for walking and team recruitment, setting and facilitating AIDS Walk meetings and events, coordinating travel and equipment, providing volunteer oversight and program support to the Development team throughout the event, and conducting the program wrap-up and evaluation after the completion of the event.
This position is stationed in CAP’s Davis St. office but will travel throughout the service area. Evening and weekend work is required. This is a non-management, non-union represented, temporary position.
The AIDS Walk Outreach Coordinator is a part-time (20-30 hour per week) temporary position from early July to mid-September. Additional hours may be available during the weeks leading up to the event on September 7. The Outreach Coordinator reports to the Development Director and is responsible for AIDS Walk outreach, recruitment, and walker correspondence. The Outreach Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to build strategic relationships, conduct a variety of outreach activities, recruit walkers, and drive donations. Some evening and weekend work required.
Experience in successful community outreach / recruitment
Strong public speaking and presentation skills
Ability to connect with others and forge strong relationships

Highly organized, analytical, proficient in MS Office and internet use
Ability to perform several tasks concurrently and effectively
Ability to support, network, and motivate volunteers, staff, and walkers
Ability to maintain confidential information
Capability remaining efficient and effective under hard deadlines and flexible to changing needs in the moment.
Access to a reliable motor vehicle and valid driver’s license
Previous experience working with people living with HIV and the LGBTQ+ community
Ability to perform with limited supervision
Knowledge of Constant Contact or Salesforce
Compensation: $16 hourly; working 20-30 hours per week
