Meals on Wheels People enriches the lives of seniors and assists them in maintaining independence by providing nutritious food, human connections and social support. With the help of more than 5,500 volunteers, our nonprofit organization serves over 5,700 meals daily and more than 1.3 million meals each year across Multnomah, Washington, and Clark Counties. Luepke Center (1009 E McLoughlin Blvd. Vancouver, WA. 98663)
• Center Manager – $38,000/yr, M-F, 40hrs/wk
Responsible for management of the day-to-day operation of the senior dining and Meals on Wheels programs. Recruitment, management and development of employees and volunteers, programming to increase multicultural participation and socialization opportunities for seniors and growth of community involvement.
• Kitchen Coordinator – $15/hr, M-F, 30hrs/wk
Responsible for oversight of all activities in the kitchen. Maintain high kitchen standards in sanitation and safety. Recruit, train and supervise kitchen and dining room volunteers.

The Diner Vancouver (5303 E Mill Plain Blvd. Vancouver, WA. 98661)
The Diner provides an opportunity for older adults to enjoy nutritious, affordable or donated meals in an atmosphere that is also appealing to families and people of every age and generation. This nonprofit restaurant also serves as a training facility, providing relevant guidance and experience for aspiring food service workers. The Diner will serve delicious, local and fresh, made-from-scratch comfort food, and will strive to bring a wonderful dining experience to the community. The Diner will be open for breakfast and lunch, 7 days a week.
• Server – $15/hr, Part Time and Full Time Positions, Day Shift
Responsible for greeting guests, taking food and drink orders, and delivering food items to customers. The server works to ensure that guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing excellent customer service. The Server must maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards. The Server will be working alongside participants of an on-the-job training program, and will be expected to mentor and guide these participants when necessary.
• Cook – $15/hr, 40hrs/wk, Day Shift
The Cook is responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food being served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health and hygiene standards. Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved. The Cook must monitor appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss and waste. The Cook will be working alongside participants of an On-the-Job training program and, when necessary, must direct and mentor program participants to safely and efficiently complete food preparation, serving, and sanitation tasks.
• Dishwasher – $15/hr, 40hrs/wk, Day Shift
The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of the tableware, glassware, utensils, kitchen supplies and equipment, and other items utilized for service at the Diner, using both machine and manual dishwashing methods. Other responsibilities include keeping the dish room and other areas of the kitchen clean and ready for use, as well as maintaining kitchen appliances and equipment. Excellent time management skills are essential, especially during peak business hours.
