We’re seeking a Strategic Energy Management (SEM) Engineer to support our SEM coaching staff with technical expertise in the areas of identifying and quantifying energy efficiency opportunities at commercial and industrial facilities, regression modelling, data logging and analysis. This is a dynamic position that requires collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders ranging from utility program representatives to executive management to maintenance staff.

The position entails a mix of the following responsibilities:

 Developing and maintaining excel based whole-facility energy intensity regression models
 Working with commercial and industrial customers to scope and develop energy efficiency projects
 Training non-technical staff how to identify energy efficiency opportunities
 Conducting energy efficiency studies/audits
 Energy Engineering / Energy Analysis and on-site Measurement & Verification
 Writing technical reports for non-technical audiences
 Working in a dynamic, challenging and collaborative environment

QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates will have some of the following skills and experience or the ability to quickly learn these skills:
 Experience in regression modelling and statistics
 Working knowledge of commercial and industrial mechanical systems and building science
 Ability to breakdown complex data sets to conduct root analysis and present meaningful observations
 Experience analyzing energy systems and quantifying annual energy savings
 Capability to work autonomously with good project & time management skills
 Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills
 Experience in customer service, account management or project management a plus
 An analytical thinker and strong problem solver
 Experience working in a small group environment and fostering a cohesive team environment
 Advanced degrees and/or great experience a plus; bachelor’s degree required
 1 or more years’ experience in the energy efficiency field
 Measurement and verification (M&V) certifications such as Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) a plus
