Multnomah County Department of County Human Services invites applications for a Bilingual American Sign Language Case Manager 2 position in the Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Services Division. This is a full time position working primarily with adult clients. It is located at West Gresham Plaza, 2951 NW Division St, Gresham, OR 97030.

This position requires proficiency in American Sign Language. A new hire or current employee who has never before received bilingual pay at Multnomah County for work done under an American Sign Language KSA will need to pass an assessment in order to be considered proficient in American Sign Language.

The eligible list created from this recruitment may be used to fill future regular, limited duration, or temporary positions.

Primary responsibilities include:

Providing services to clients which could include eligibility assessment and intake for Oregon Supplemental Income Program (OSIPM), General Assistance, and Medicare

Assessing client needs and risk status through home visits, phone calls, and connecting them with resources

Developing comprehensive, client-centered care plans

Frequent data entry to document billable services

Successful case managers have:

Ability to promote a culture of respect, inclusiveness, and appreciation of diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and values

Knowledge of cultures, customs and social experiences of communities experiencing marginalization and barriers to opportunity

Knowledge of principles and practices of case management for people impacted by intellectual and/or developmental disabilities

Commitment to delivering person-centered care

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay current on documentation of billable services

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Comfort and competence with completing work using standard software tools

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:

Associate's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice or a related field (Equivalent training and practical experience may substitute for the educational requirement)

Three (3) years of case management work experience

Must be proficient in American Sign Language

Must have a valid driver license

Must pass a criminal background check (this step occurs after a job offer)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Type of Position: This hourly union-represented position is eligible for overtime pay.

Note regarding salary placement: New employees and rehires will be paid at the minimum rate in the range for their classification unless a higher rate is approved by the Appointing Authority.

Bilingual pay: This position receives an additional 4% premium an all hours worked, because it requires proficiency in American Sign Language.
