HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the organization, and the Global Product Development Group. As a Platform team member, the Truck Architect of Counterbalanced Product Structure has ownership of the truck design product structure architecture from cradle to grave with high visibility across all functional groups and levels throughout the company. This is a key role in developing a vision and roadmap for truck of the future that will meet our customer needs with lowest cost of ownership and highest quality.
Lead and define product structure of Counterbalance products maintaining the vision of optimization of engineering, manufacturing/assembly processes for both product development programs as well as current production.
Lead accurate integration of the program options and engineering documentation by facilitating migration of engineering product structures into other HYG product development and production systems.
Coordinate and facilitate Virtual Builds with Design, Manufacturing and other platform members.
Apply Virtual Build tools and process for assisting in assembly sequence studies.
Identify and propose continual process improvements to improve efficiency of product structure systems and procedures.
Signoff for system/component product structure of units defined by product development programs.
Coordinate with other Truck Architects to define option compatibility and minimize option complexity.
Formal education with a minimum BS in Engineering
Minimum 3 years of experience in design, analysis and truck architecture experience
General knowledge of power train, drive train, motors and controllers, cooling, steering, frame, axles, tires, brakes, and hydraulics
Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical design principles
Proficient in CAD modeling, engineering analysis, design layouts, manufacturing methods, truck assembly sequence.
Knowledge of HYG records systems (CORE, Agile, etc.), Engineering Standards, Standard parts
Understanding of forklift industry applications and truck options
