POSITION SUMMARY:
Do you enjoy solving puzzles? Do you like a good challenge? If so, you might be a great candidate for the Construction Project Manager I position with Metro's Solid Waste Operations team. We're looking for a new team member who has the ability to balance the details of construction projects with the operational needs of our busy transfer stations.

This position is currently part of the Solid Waste Operations (SWOps) group within Metro's Waste Prevention and Environmental Services (WPES) department and reports directly to the Transfer Station Superintendent. SWOps has one full-time professional project manager who will guide and assist the work of this position. The Construction Project Manager I will work independently, but in a collaborative and supportive environment, delivering projects to improve the safety, resilience and effectiveness of Metro's transfer stations. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, works collaboratively with the project team and internal/external stakeholders, communicates effectively, and is forward thinking.

The Construction Project Manager I is responsible for managing projects related to the design and construction of smaller-scale capital improvements, as well as managing repair and replacement projects at both Metro South and Metro Central transfer stations. This includes the successful completion of projects such as: mechanical/electrical/plumbing improvements, exterior siding projects, lighting upgrades, building renovations, walkway improvements, space reconfigurations, security and accessibility improvements, and other maintenance projects under $100,000.

Education and experience
• Two years of experience in construction management; AND
• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field; OR
• Any combination of education and experience which provide the candidate with the skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job.
