OVERVIEW:

The City of Tigard is currently recruiting for a pool of On-Call Recreation Aides to assist our recreation program in encouraging people of all ages and abilities to enjoy healthy and interconnected lives. These positions assist with special events and activity logistics including volunteer coordination, setup, break down and cleanup.

These positions accept registration information, prepares rosters, collects a variety of payments, and makes changes. These positions may also lead program participants, including children and adults in a variety of recreational activities.

Recreation Aides performs customer service functions including providing information about programs, rules, and regulations through communication over the telephone, in person, and in written form including the distribution of program marketing materials.
Duties may include monitoring facilities/rooms during reservations for meeting spaces, weddings, workshops, catered events, photo shoots, etc.

The recreation aide will help ensure spaces are used in a safe manner according to standards set by the City of Tigard.

Must be available for the majority of these events/dates: Note: your hourly pay rate will be based on your experience.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities, to perform the essential functions of the position, may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
•Some experience in a customer service or recreation setting.
•Must be at least 16 years of age.

Preferred Certifications:
•Basic First Aid and CPR
