Academic and Career Coach – STEM Program Emphasis

Inform and advise current and potential students, school counselors, college staff, external agencies, and businesses regarding academic programs, degree and career options, registration processes, college policies, and transfer procedures while providing excellent customer service. This position shall have a primary assignment to serving students in STEM programs, and will regularly collaborate with STEM faculty and department chairs.

Thorough knowledge of college academic programs and procedures, career development principles and practices, registration processes, and relationships between various levels of education and business. Knowledge of education partners and services available and college policies and procedures. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, internet, and e-mail applications. Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, with proper grammar in the English language. Ability to communicate with non-English speakers. Equivalent to Bachelor's Degree in psychology, sociology, business or public administration, or related field AND two years' relevant experience.
