The Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) provides vision and leadership to the development, implementation and maintenance of the overall information systems and technology architecture of Washington County. As a member of the senior management team, the CITO leads the planning, implementation, and maintenance of information systems in support of Washington County's mission.

The ideal candidate for this position is one with extensive education, experience and proven track record of leading an organization's information technology (IT) group in supporting all internal and external needs of the organization. In addition, the ideal candidate is able to communicate and build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization from a diversified professional background. Finally, the ideal candidate is able to stay current on industry best practices and is able to create a vision for the IT group that is in alignment with the organization's mission, goals and priorities. Public sector and/or not-for-profit experience is preferred.

Education and Experience:
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Information Systems, Technical Systems, Computer Science, Public Administration, Business Administration or closely related field of study; AND seven (7) years of executive level experience providing leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight to a staff of IT professionals; two (2) of the seven years of experience must include the supervision and management of Information Technology staff. OR
Master's Degree from an accredited university in Information Systems, Technical Systems, Computer Science, Public Administration, Business Administration or closely related field of study; AND five (5) years of executive level experience providing leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight to a staff of IT professionals; two (2) of the five years of experience must include the supervision and management of Information Technology staff.
If you have completed education in a foreign college or university and are using this education to meet the minimum qualifications, you must provide documentation that the foreign education is comparable to that received within the United States' accredited college or university system or your application will not be accepted.

Salary $10,500.56 - $13,401.84 Monthly
