The Oregon Convention Center is hiring an electrician to fill an open position as a result of a recent retirement. This is a full ¬time position with a full benefits package, including paid holidays, vacation, sick pay, shift differential, PERS, medical, dental and vision. Represented by IUOE Local 701.

Entry rate: $37.35/hour, full rate (after 6 months): $39.10/hour.
Shift Differential: $1.70/hour for shifts starting between 12:00 PM and 4:00 AM; as applied according to terms outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

How can you contribute to the success of our operations? The electrician at the Convention Center installs temporary electrical services for building events and performs electrical installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance on all electrical systems and associated equipment.

The person in this position must be able to work a flexible schedule based on event and building requirements; scheduled shifts may include day shift, swing shift, weekends and holidays. For this position the current base schedule after training is swing shift 2pm – 10pm, Tuesday – Saturday but is subject to change. Supervision is received from the OCC Operations Manager/Lead Electrician.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A current Oregon State Limited Journeyman Manufacturing Plant Electrician License or General Journeyman Electrician license or higher is required at time of employment. High school diploma or GED; electrical trade school preferred. Experience performing the duties of an Electrician in a large public assembly facility or similar venue, and while working with the public present; or any combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job. A valid state driver's license is required. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a CPR certificate. Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays, as required.
