The City of Gresham is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Information and Innovation
department to fill a 2-year limited-duration Business Systems Analyst position. This position
reports to the Applications Manager and will to help the City implement and leverage the
functionality of new systems, such as an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, learning
management system, and new business intelligence and data visualization software.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Things you'll get to do:
Support technical systems and business objectives:
Analyze business processes to identify opportunities for efficiencies. Make recommendations for
improvements that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing
technology. Use fundamental technical troubleshooting abilities to optimize and enhance
systems.
Define project requirements:
Act as liaison between business stakeholders, customers/vendors/end users, and technical staff.
Analyze and communicate stakeholder needs by translating business requirements into
technical needs.
Report and test:
Develop benchmarks, gather metrics, to create and analyze reports. Contribute to quality
assurance tests, strategies and plans.

QUALIFICATIONS:
You will need a clear understanding of business principles/process and how they relate to
business systems. Familiarity with data analysis, project/program management, and process
evaluation will be necessary as will a genuine interest in maintaining technical aptitude and
knowledge. Gathering information, analyzing requirements, learning the business needs and
making recommendations, while understanding how that relates to business objectives and
service delivery.
Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, public
administration, business administration or related field. -AND-
• Three years of related, progressively responsible experience with any of the following:
◦ IT background that includes system analysis and support
◦ Business Systems Analyst experience supporting an Enterprise Resource Planning
(ERP) system
◦ Business Systems Analyst experience within a functional area such as: Budget,
Finance, and/or Human Resources/Payroll
-OR-
• Five years of related, progressively responsible experience as described above
Preferred Qualifications:
• Good technical foundation for troubleshooting and problem solving
• Proficiency with Office 365 productivity suite (SharePoint, Visio, PowerBI, Office apps,
etc.)
• Strong familiarity with technology and change, particularly evergreen software solutions
• Collaborative and team-oriented
• Ability to work independently and within a group with minimal direction
