Note: This is currently a 4-month contract position

Position Summary...

The Item Production Specialist serves Content Solutions as a member of the Content Services Team. This role supports item production by performing such activities as copyediting and performing quality control. This role works to ensure that all internal needs related to item production are addressed quickly and comprehensively and works collaboratively with other members of the Content Production team to do so.


-Validate item display to ensure conformity to item style standards
-Ensure appropriate use of formatting and publication standards required for item content
-Copy edit test items for grammar, spelling, punctuation, usage, and syntax errors
-Perform text-to-speech reviews on items and apply phrase tags or equation tags as necessary
-Research and elevate copy edit issues and challenges as they arise
-Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the team and the entire organization

-Strong understanding and/or ability to quickly learn processes, tools, applications, software, and systems for Content Production
-Excellent problem-solving skills
-Exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills
-Strong attention to and affinity for detail and quality
-Ability to apply consistent and scalable techniques in all production activities
-Willingness to collaborate with team around how to best accomplish key tasks
-Information research skills
-Ability to communicate effectively in a timely manner using a variety of communication methods
-Ability to work effectively with a wide range of professionals
-Must be able to perform the physical and intellectual requirements of the role, with or without accommodation

Education and Experience…

-Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; or an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree
-Minimum two years’ related experience; experience in assessment, educational publishing and/or editing preferred.
-Experience or demonstrated interest in the field of education preferred
