POSITION SUMMARY:

Catholic Charities is a nonprofit social services and low income housing provider organization dedicated to providing social services and assistance to meet clients' physical, social, spiritual and psychological needs while helping to develop opportunities for self-help. Resident Services Coordinators will provide services, programing and advocacy for the residents of Catholic Charities owned properties in the Portland Metro area. These services are focused on four goals for the residents including housing stability, financial stability, social connection, emotional resiliency and thriving children.



This Coordinator position will be providing services to the residents of McCoy Village in NE Portland on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and the Kateri Cluster in SE Portland on Wednesdays and Fridays.



PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify resident needs; carry out services, programs and activities for residents; work in partnership with other community resources and agencies; facilitate connections between volunteers, services and residents; orient new residents to available services.
Foster and promote positive relationships with the residents.
Follow up with residents on notices issued by property management and report outcomes.
Being an approachable and engaging on-site presence with the residents.
Provide information and referral services to residents. Create and post a monthly calendar of events and services for residents.
Develop educational programs for adults or children on site.
Offer appropriate group activities for residents such as classes, presentations or social activities. Coordinate group activities with on-site property manager.
Schedule annual Energy Assistance application outreach days.
Maintain a cordial and constructive working relationship with property management, asset management and other Resident Services Coordinators.
Maintain log of resident contacts, service requests and their disposition, and referrals made and provide a monthly summary of program activities and participation records.
Provide data as needed for Oregon Housing, Community Services Housing and Urban Development and other funders of the properties.
Connect residents with food resources, such as operating a building food pantry or partnering with other organizations to bring in food resources.
Maintain a database and/or library of information and referral resources.
Act as advocate as needed between residents, property management and other service providers.
Manage building volunteer programs. Recruit, train and supervise volunteers to provide one time only or ongoing support/assistance to residents. Track volunteer hours.
Assist residents with paperwork for housing or benefits.
Attend staff/agency trainings and meetings as well as supervision meetings.
Participate in agency fundraising initiatives
Adherence to Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Applicable lived experience will be recognized.
Minimum 2 years' experience providing information and referrals and advocacy and/or case management.
Experience working with survivors of domestic violence; completion of 40-hour Domestic Violence Advocacy training strongly preferred.
Preference for applicants who have worked with or have lived experience with the following groups: African Americans, Latinx, immigrants and/or refugees.
Experience in developing and providing populations specific programming for residents.
Intermediate proficiency in all programs of Microsoft Office.
Demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.

Commitment to Catholic Charities mission to work in partnership with vulnerable populations to achieve lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.

Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner. High attention to detail required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.

Ability to work well in team setting, as well as independently; be flexible and adapt well to different dynamics in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, which could include some evenings and weekends.
Ability to lift 40 pounds.

Driver's license and ability to obtain automobile insurance at levels required by agency (100/300/100) required; access to vehicle strongly preferred. Frequent driving in the metro area.
Satisfactory results from criminal, civil and/or motor vehicle background check required.
